01 / GET THE APP

One charger. Your choice of app.

Use Tuya Smart or Smart Life. SmartApp is the AmpByte charger interface inside either app.

Tuya Smart

Search “Tuya Smart” in the App Store or Google Play.

Smart Life

Search “Smart Life” in the App Store or Google Play.

Install one app from your phone’s official app store, then create an account or sign in. Use the same account when adding a compatible Smart Meter.

02 / PAIR YOUR CHARGER

Connect once. Start here.

Use these steps for a supported charger that has not been added to your account, or when its Wi-Fi network has changed.

Power the charger. Follow the hardware manual. For a plug-in model, use a compatible earthed outlet. Leave the EV connector disconnected and wait for the self-test to finish.

Enter pairing mode. On models covered by this guide, hold the A key for 8 seconds until the Wi-Fi indicator flashes. Follow your model’s hardware manual if its controls differ.

Enable Bluetooth. In Tuya Smart or Smart Life, tap + → Add Device and select the detected charger.

Connect to Wi-Fi. Enter your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi credentials and follow the prompts until the charger appears on the app’s Home screen.

03 / FIRST CHARGE

Make the first charge yours.

Begin with a simple charge, then build a routine around your electricity tariff.

Check Health. Review the power-on self-test before your first charge.

Enter your real tariff. Open Settings → Rate Plan. Set prices and time periods for both Weekdays and Weekends, save, then select the active plan.

Choose how to charge. For power now, connect the EV and choose Home → Charging Mode → Immediate. Set Delay to 0, select a permitted current and tap Confirm.

For a repeating routine. Create a Smart Schedule, then select it under Home → Charging Mode → Scheduled. Use one scheduler: turn off the vehicle’s own schedule when using SmartApp Scheduled mode.

04 / BEFORE YOU WALK AWAY

A few checks. A better start.

Tick these off as you complete your setup.

Health shows passed self-test results.Your Rate Plan uses your real prices and both weekday and weekend periods.The intended Rate Plan is selected on Home.Smart Schedule ON events fall inside your chosen lower-rate periods.For scheduled charging, the intended schedule is active and the vehicle’s scheduler is off.After several sessions, the Statistics cost estimates are consistent with the tariff you entered.

OPTIONAL / SMART METER

Add solar and load management.

Solar Only and app-based DLB require a compatible, activated charger and a supported Smart Meter.

Install in the right place. Follow the meter and charger installation instructions. The meter must monitor the home’s main incoming supply, not only the solar circuit.

Add the meter. Add it to the same Tuya account. Check that it is online and reporting correctly.

Link it to the charger. Open Settings → General → Smart Meter and bind the meter.

Choose your next step. Select Solar Only for surplus solar charging, or configure DLB with the main breaker’s current rating.
